If you take a look at the most successful brands out there, you'll see that they all have very clear brand colors. Brand colors are a feature of many successful shops and businesses, but how do they help us achieve success?
When building a successful brand, it is extremely important to be professional, especially with your first impressions. That's why all the places where someone might stumble upon you need to be clean and professional, with clear brand colors! Having brand colors makes your instagram or pinterest feed look clean and organized. They make your stories look professional! They make someone want to scroll through your shop instead of clicking away.
So how can you create brand colors, and how can you use them to your advantage? It's not too difficult! It's easy to create a color palette using canva. You want to find 2-4 colors that look nice together on canva and screenshot them. Now you're all ready to use them!
Since there are a lot of places your brand colors will show up, I am going to go through a few different options:
1. Instagram - Upload your screenshot to the corner of your instagram stories so that you can use the color picker to make any doodles or background colors your brand colors! Also, if you post any graphics to your feed, be sure to use your brand colors there too. Make sure your brand colors are shown in your logo and highlight covers.
2. Pinterest - If you are producing any text pins or graphics, make sure you are using your brand colors as the backgrounds! Also, try to keep an aesthetic of your pins that looks nice with the colors you chose.
3. Etsy or Website - This is the most important place for your brand colors to sho through! Make sure your website or etsy shop has your brand colors showcased wherever you can! It will make your shop look very professional and encourage buyers to scroll through and browse your products!
4. Product photography - This one can be tricky. It's hard to get your product photography to line up with your brand colors since you are not creating digital images anymore, you are showcasing what you offer in the real world! When I take product photos, I think of our general brand colors, which are green, blue, and cream. Then, I pick one color to have as the backdrop (usually cream) and ad accents of green and blue!
One last thing I want to touch on with brand colors is how they help you be unique and memorable. You want people who see your brand to remember it, and a color scheme is essential to memory! If you have a unique color scheme and style, people will remember your brand and keep coming back!
I hope this was helpful, stay tuned for more!
